The Catwalk of Shame

So, you probably know me as the interviewer. But brace yourselves. The following article is NOT an interview! It is the fashion police. I have been keeping my eye on some suspicious suites this week, and here is what I have found. All this evidence can be taken to fashion court of the followers of grab The Joystick agree.

First of all, we have cherry-mama.
I personally love all the pieces of this outfit, but they should have never ever met. First of all, there is the Hot Buys beret. I am a fan of this myself, but it is not meant to be perched on top of her head. If this was real life, that would be falling off! Also, because the beret is black and so is the hair, it gives the effect of some kind of alien attaching itself to her head. Now, never go matchy-matchy! It’s always good to mix. Take the blazer and skirt. This is not a great combo. And the bag is the wrong colour for the whole outfit! Also, the fur doesn’t go because it is too long, and there is already a lot going on in the outfit. The shoes are fine—they are the finest thing there!

Now, we go on to study FiFash88.
I don’t like this combo. The skirt has a very specific look, and can only really go with the top it was made to go with! The top chosen for this outfit is too casual. It would need to be either strapless or only with spaghetti straps. The belt does not go either, and is not even made to go in that specific place on the doll body! And the gloves feel like a last minute addition. Overall, none of this actually goes together.

Next, we shall discuss kindzia-22.
This little lady comes from Japan, a country that is world renowned for its eccentric fashions. This, however, is a dud. Some people may think it is cute—I did at first—but you have to examine it more closely. First of all, horizontal striped tend to make you look short and fat, especially if they’re big. Also, the balloon hemline of the dress is very unflattering. It just hangs off her shoulders, and then looks like it’s tucked into her underwear. Then, the shoes. They are very casual, and the shade of pink does not go. Also, you have to stand back a bit from an outfit before you realise that the shoes are wrong. Just like ankle boots, they tend not to go with any type of dress or skirt.

Now, we go on to miss-girl23.
First off—never ever use freebies with logos on them! You whether you are non superstar are not; this is you just giving in to not having much money. This is even worse when you actually are superstar (which the girl in question is/was)! A plain tank top or basic tee is much better than a freebie. Now, look at the jeans. They look like they cannot decide whether they are full length or three-quarters!

Here, we have Rac6199.
I’m sorry to be throwing you under the bus as you are a member of my club, but I couldn’t just ignore this major fashion no-no. Yet again, we have the giving in to not having money. Yet another freebie with a logo. And she has taken the slacker look the whole way with faded ripped jeans and tennis boots. This just looks like you can’t be bothered! Have you ever heard of skinny jeans and a boyfriend blazer?

Here is the final outfit. This is from Weranda_Angel.
At a first glance, this is very stylish. But if you look closer, or move further away, this is close to being a fashion disaster. First of all, I have to address the colour scheme. Black, white, pink, grey and blue. The two colours thrown in there are probably one of the most conflicting pairs ever. Mixing blue and pink is another fashion don’t, as the colours clash and do not mix well. Also, I have to address that there is a definite mixture of punk, fashionista and red carpet glamour. Usually, this mix would mesh well, but there is a tiny silver handbag with a bow and some Alexandra Burke in Bad Boys style boots thrown in. These do not go whatsoever, because the punk is meant to be ruling the outfit, yet there is a sudden slap in the face with these two lazy additions. Overall, this is most definitely not the worst outfit, and is probably the best of a bad bunch.

And I would like to close addressing one of the latest additions to the starplaza. It is the Dress Inspired By Mary Katrantzou.
Personally, I think it is very unflattering. It makes you look like you have big hips and an extremely high, pointy chest! It also looks a bit like a perfume bottle, especially with the random sliver neckline. Luckily, I have not spotted anyone wearing it, so I think the Stardoll world is in the loop on this one.

Stay fabulous, ladies (and the odd gent…)

xoxo
